Guilford County Board of Elections recount confirms original totals in Greensboro at-large council race; official result

The Guilford County Board of Elections has concluded the machine recount in the at-large Greensboro City Council race, and the totals match the original results. According to the North Carolina State Board of Elections, just 50 votes separate T. Dianne Bellamy-Small and Carla Franklin for the sixth spot to advance to next month’s general election.

The county elections director, Charlie Collicutt, said candidates have the right to have a recount, and this process helps verify the results.

What is going through the tabulators right now is exactly as it was left by the poll workers on election night," Collicutt said.
