Minot Parks property tax relief plan appears headed for '25 election

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - A half-cent sales tax proposal from the Minot Park District appears headed for a special election during the middle of next year.

The Minot City Council approved an ordinance and ballot language for the election at Monday’s meeting.

The election would likely take place in June, with the sales tax going into effect in October, if approved by voters.

Last week, Your News Leader reported that the park district’s proposal would dwindle property tax charged for the district, and replace it with a half-cent sales tax.
