Across the Desk - S7:E1 (SB 129 - No Trans Till 26 Bill)

This week starts the beginning of Season 7 on Across the Desk. And as we do every odd numbered Season, we kick off with all the crazy bills that have been filed with the Oklahoma Legislature... And this week Kit highlights SB 129. It's an ant-transgender bill designed to limit the freedoms of taxpaying adults between the ages of 18-26 by banning them from getting any transgender care in Oklahoma... But the bill is more cynical than that! As it stipulates harsh draconian penalties upon Doctors so much that this bill keeps them from even giving a referral for transgender care, including mental health services and puberty blocking drugs, even if the referrals are to providers out of state where it is legal... A bill Authored by Sen. Bullard named the 'Millstone Act' after a biblical verse, that drives home the fact that BIG GOVERNEMNT CONSERVATISM is much more about harming those marginalized groups they hate and fear the most in the name of the Christian religion...

The "Millstone verse" refers to the tying of a large, heaving milling stone to a person's neck and drowning them in a deep body of water as punishment for allowing or encouraging especially children to live in a way other than is prescribed by the Bible. It goes way beyond punishing so-called sinners, and this bill completely trashes the idea of not having a state-sponsored religion.

Matthew 18:6
"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."
