Miami special election: New school project with no tax increase

MIAMI, Okla. — In Tuesday’s special election, Miami residents will have the opportunity to invest and protect their youngest citizens.

A no-tax-increase $14.7 million bond is on the ballot to build a new lower elementary school. The school will be built at the current Will Rogers Middle School site and accommodate grades one through three.

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

The new elementary school will also include a storm shelter. If approved, the project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2027.
