State officials respond to Fallin's request for special session

After a fiscal year that was riddled with budget cuts and funding woes, school officials in Oklahoma are watching as state leaders determine what to do with money left over from some of those cuts.

July 27, Gov. Mary Fallin issued a statement that $140.8 million cut from agency allocations during the 2015-16 fiscal year could be used for other purposes.

The money is available because the General Revenue Fund allocation reductions were deeper than necessary, according to the statement.

Now, the question remains: What to do with this extra money?
