Oregon state parks to slowly reopen

Oregon will reopen a small number of outdoor destinations on Wednesday, beginning a gradual effort to relax limits imposed on recreation during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eight state parks and boat ramps will reopen Wednesday, with more places to follow next week, officials said on Tuesday.

Ski resorts will also be able to resume activities under a forthcoming executive order from Oregon Gov. Kate Brown.

The first places to reopen include some lesser-traveled state parks, such as Willamette Mission State Park north of Salem, along with boat ramps to more popular lakes and reservoirs, such as Detroit Lake and Lake Billy Chinook.
