FAA investigates near-crash at Nashville Airport

"Passengers aboard a Delta flight from Nashville to Minneapolis-St. Paul experienced an emergency stop on the runway at Nashville International Airport last week after a small plane crossed into its path.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to The Tennessean that it is investigating the July 10 event, first reported by News Channel 5.
The incident comes 10 months after an Alaska Airlines flight came to a sudden stop on the runway to avoid colliding with a Southwest Airlines jet on Sept. 12, 2024. The National Transportation Safety Board found that BNA air traffic controllers cleared the Alaska Airlines plane to takeoff after also clearing the Southwest plane to cross.

On July 10, air traffic control cleared the Delta Airbus A321, which can hold up to 220 passengers, for takeoff two minutes ahead of schedule at 9:58 a.m., according to live flight tracker site Flight Aware. Then at approximately 10:05 a.m., an air traffic controller spotted another plane in its path and quickly called for the Delta crew to cancel takeoff."...(more)
