TN construction boom threatened by immigrant worker shortage

https://www.newschannel5.com/news/state/tennessee/davidson-county/tennessee-construction-boom-threatened-by-immigration-enforcement-worker-shortage

Chances are no matter where you go in Middle Tennessee you've seen construction. New data shows Tennessee's boom in building could hit a roadblock, and it's happening right now on job sites across the state.

Industry leaders say immigration enforcement policies are creating serious staffing challenges, keeping people from showing up to sites across the state.

A new survey from the Associated General Contractors of America on the 2026 Construction Industry Outlook reveals 45% of Tennessee construction firms are being directly impacted. Eighteen percent of Tennessee contractors say workers have failed to show up or left jobs due to actual or rumored immigration actions. You wanted this!

You got it!

Why whine about it now?

Because you are the one suffering?

Imagine that!

I guess you are going to just have to get out there with a hammer and some nails, big boy!

Because so many houses will suddenly become available for our white citizens to move into.

“A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants,” Vance said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

The VP argued illegal immigrants were “taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens” at a time when the country wasn’t “building enough new houses to begin with.”

It seems to be large corporate investors that are 'taking houses', and those investors are being rewarded with massive tax breaks. Meanwhile, skeletons of houses half-finished will stand rotting in the rain.
