Carthage ISD trustees call for $23 million bond election in May

CARTHAGE, Texas — Carthage ISD trustees recently called for a $23 million bond election in May to fund needed facility upgrades and campus improvements.

According to the school district, the bond proposal will be broken up into two propositions.

If approved, Proposition A would give $20 million for essential facility upgrades, ongoing maintenance needs, transportation improvements and campus enhancements. Some planned projects include critical repairs to roofs and parking lots, updates to paint, lighting, flooring, electrical systems, and other interior renovations.

Proposition B would give $3 million toward Chromebook replacements, infrastructure upgrades, and software services. The bond is meant to support priority projects over the next three years.
