Congressman Casar goes after Tesla over worker's death at Gigafactory - KVUE
Congressman Greg Casar is demanding the release of OSHA investigation details regarding Victor Gomez Sr.'s death at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas U.S. Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas) is urging the federal government to release information after an investigation into a death that happened at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin last August.
On Wednesday, Casar wrote to Scott Ketcham, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), to release information regarding the federal governments investigation into the death of Victor Gomez Sr. at the Gigafactory on Aug. 1, 2024.
In Casar's letter to Ketcham, he noted that OSHAs online database still lists the case as open and does not include information on any citations.
Casar's request comes after a report from Reuters on Wednesday revealed that Tesla was cited for Gomez's death.
"The American people have a right to know whether or not the federal government will turn a blind eye to problems at Tesla given Elon Musks unprecedented seizure of power at the White House," Casar wrote in his letter. "An electricians death cannot be ignored simply because the CEO has lots of money and powerful connections.
