(633 posts)The media is supposed to inform the public about who these candidates are and what they have done in their career. I'm north of you and SA in San Marcos. I know the "media" is becoming so right wing that it's useless and unaware of what honest information is that is why we are now getting more republicans running as Democratic Party candidates. Once they get elected they either switch back to the republican side or they will just vote with the republicans.

(32,761 posts)But with 27???
Some of these have no online presence and are candidates in "name only". They aren't going to get anywhere, but they clutter up the ballot.
Some of these candidates are well known. I'm supporting Melissa.
San Antonio makes it too easy to file. All you need is $100. Other cities charge more or they require petitions.

Many of them down have a chance: Even Clayton. He resigned from City Council because of a DUI.
Rolando Pablos is the one who worries me. He's GOP and a former SOS. He has a lot of money.
Melissa, Adriana, Palaez, and John Courage have all served in city council.
Everyone knows Gina Ortiz Jones because she ran for congress
Beto Altamarino is new in town, young, charismatic and is making a buzz. He's popular with a lot of Democrats, but I'm supporting Melissa.
