Texas GOP lawmaker brags in video about low vaccination rate at his kids' school

Texas is ground zero for one of the nation's worst measles outbreak in years, and the disease has largely affected the unvaccinated.

But that didn't stop one Texas Republican lawmaker from posting a video on social media this week celebrating the low vaccination rate of the school his children attend.

State Rep. Nate Schatzline, who represents a district north of Fort Worth, tweeted a two-minute clip in which he trumpeted the abysmal vaccination rate at Mercy Culture Preparatory as reason for an award from his office.

"Why haven't we celebrated this sooner?" Schatzline said. "Look, I am so excited to say that Mercy Culture Prep is celebrating medical freedom where we honor the wishes of moms and dads over any type of health official."

FORT WORTH, Texas — A Fort Worth pastor is celebrating his school's distinction as the least-vaccinated school in Texas.

Mercy Culture pastor Landon Schott, whose Mercy Culture Preparatory Academy has a measles vaccination rate of 14.29%, posted a video on Instagram congratulating Mercy Culture Prep families "that embrace freedom of health."

… unless accompanied by boasting of the death and serious health consequences among school attendees and in the local community resulting from that.

Asses!

Spring Break is upon us. A lot of folks from Ft Worth come to San Antonio during Spring Break.

Last week or so, a visitor from one of the affected counties came to S.A. & later tested positive for measles. Next 2 weeks should tell us whether the outbreak will explode or not.
