Grayson County sees strong early voting numbers with election day about one week away

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Grayson County Elections Administrator Julie Phillips said early voting turnout has been strong, with election day eight days away — but she is still urging more residents to cast their ballots.

“It’s going to be a good turnout,” Phillips said. “All of them are really good races on the ballot for this primary election. I think towards the end of the yearly voting and election day, it’ll be good.”

Phillips said the office believes turnout has outpaced comparable past elections, though she acknowledged a typical mid-week slowdown is expected before numbers pick back up.

“Saturday, Sunday, today, and probably tomorrow would be the low,” Phillips said. “So normally in the middle of early voting is when you would see a low turnout.”
