Pete Buttigieg to appear with Spanberger in Charlottesville
With the election for governor three weeks away, Democrat Abigail Spanberger is getting some outside help to get out the vote. Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg will appear with the Democratic gubernatorial candidate at a rally in Charlottesville on Oct. 21.
The rally is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. next Tuesday, but the Spanberger campaign will release the exact location when people register to attend. Previously, Spanberger had advertised that the rally would feature a special guest.
Buttigieg, a former Democratic presidential candidate who is mentioned nationally as a potential presidential candidate in 2028, knows Spanberger well from her three terms in Congress, representing the 7th Congressional District.

On this visit, hes focused on the Virginia governors race and what he terms its importance amid actions by President Donald Trump, who has rolled back many federal investments made under laws that Congress passed under Biden to boost spending on public infrastructure projects and clean energy production.
