Affordable housing planned near future Shoreline light rail station

Affordable housing developer SRM Development and the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle are teaming up to develop an 207-unit apartment project in North Seattle.

The eight-story development, called Altaire at Jackson Park, will be located less than a mile from the Shoreline South/148th Link light rail station, which is slated to open later this year.

Spokane-based SRM, which has an office in Kirkland, and the Urban League acquired the 0.8-acre property at 14343 15th Ave. NE for $6.8 million in late December.

The apartments, which will range from 425 to 1,000 square feet, will be available to tenants with incomes from 50% to 60% of the area median income, or up to around $77,600 a year for a family of four, according to SRM's website. The units will remain affordable for 99 years under the terms of the financing.
