NO on I‑2109 unveils its first television ad -- "What We Know"
The NO on I‑2109 campaign today joined its siblings NO on I‑2117 and NO on I‑2124 on the airwaves with a television spot urging voters to reject Washington State Republican Party Chair Jim Walshs measure to eliminate the states capital gains tax, which would deliver a tax cut to rich men like Walshs principal donor Brian Heywood, who provided most of the money to get the measure onto the November 2024 ballot.
The ad is titled What We Know.
It focuses on the brazen attempt by wealthy hedge fund manager Brian Heywood to rob Washingtons children of billions of dollars in childcare and education funding in order to give a tax cut to the super wealthy, according to an announcement from the campaign. It also highlights the fact that Initiative 2109 would repeal a tax that 99.8% of Washingtonians do not pay, and that the sales of homes, small businesses, and retirement and college savings accounts are exempt from the tax.
