WA voters poised to reject two initiatives, accept other two
Two of the four statewide initiatives on this years general election ballot appear likely to pass and two are faltering, according to the most recent Cascade PBS/Elway Poll.
The likely voters polled seem ready to reject Initiative 2109, which would repeal the capital gains tax, and Initiative 2117, which would repeal the states cap-and-invest program. The two other ballot items Initiative 2066, which would require local governments and utilities to provide natural gas to eligible customers, and Initiative 2124, which would make the states new long-term care insurance program optional both have more support in this poll.
Only one ballot initiative, I-2066, has a clear majority of 51% in our poll. One other, I-2124, is leading 45% to 33%.
But many voters we polled remain undecided on all four initiatives, which could make a difference for the long-term care initiative.
