MacKenzie Scott gives $15 million to Seattle community lender

Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has given $15 million to community development lender Craft3.

Craft3, which is headquartered in Seattle and a large portfolio in Oregon, announced the gift Wednesday.

"This generous gift from MacKenzie Scott is an affirmation of Craft3’s mission to build a thriving, just, and empowered Pacific Northwest. Our entire team is humbled and grateful,” President and interim CEO Bruce Brooks said a news release. “We look forward to leveraging this support, along with what we gratefully receive from many other sources, all important regardless of size, to better serve communities across Oregon and Washington."

The gift comes from Scott's Yield Giving charitable organization and is the second major donation to Craft3. It also received $10 million from Scott in 2020.
