Downtown Redmond Link service to start at noon on May 10th; NPI will hold a party at its headquarters to celebrate

Trains serving the new Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond stations will begin welcoming riders at noon on Saturday, May 10th, after an Opening Day celebration beginning at 10:30 AM, Sound Transit said today, providing new details concerning the arrival of high capacity transit service in the heart of NPI’s hometown.

“The opening day celebration will start at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 10th with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Downtown Redmond Station,” the agency said.

“Following the ribbon cutting, service is anticipated to start around noon. Community events at both the Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond stations will run from noon to 4 PM. The HelloRedmond site will be updated as details are finalized, and people should check back often for the latest information.”

The new Downtown Redmond station is a short walk from NPI’s headquarters next to the Redmond Transit Center (which we might want to rename the Redmond Bus Hub in the future to ensure people don’t think that’s where you catch the train).
