Kent Craford got tired of the schlep between Seattle and Portland, moving between traffic snarls on Interstate 5.

So this week, the Portland-based CEO of SeaPort Airlines is relaunching frequent daily flight service between the two cities, after the company went bankrupt in 2016.

At peak times, flights will take off every 45 minutes from Boeing Field at King County International Airport and land at the Atlantic Aviation private terminal at Portland International Airport. The Pilatus PC-12 aircraft can carry nine passengers and tickets will start at $279 for the roughly 45-minute flight.

“This is aviation that’s typically reserved for Jay-Z and Beyonce,” Craford said. “But in this case, it’s available to every person who wants it.”
