Scene clear after fire crews respond to 'major natural gas leak' in Fremont

The scene is now clear after Seattle Fire Department (SFD) crews responded to a ruptured 2-inch gas line in Fremont. SFD stated, via X, the situation has been turned over to Puget Sound Energy.

More than 20 fire units responded to the rupture in the 300 block of North 36th Street, near the George and Dragon Pub.

David Cuerpo, with SFD, told KIRO 7 all buildings were evacuated within a three-block radius.

“We responded to reports of a natural gas leak in the 300 block of North 36th street in the Fremont neighborhood, where firefighters arrived on scene that confirmed that there is a major natural gas leak in the area,” he said.
