Expedia job cuts will affect 162 workers in Washington

Seattle-based Expedia Group Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EXPE) layoffs will affect 162 local employees.

The online travel company on Wednesday filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the state of Washington disclosing the local impact. According to the WARN, the 162 employees are based at Expedia's Interbay headquarters in Seattle, but a few impacted employees work remotely.

Expedia initially confirmed the layoffs on Monday but didn't say how many total people were impacted or how many remain at the company. The layoffs impacted 10% of the company's technology team.

The layoffs start April 1, according to the WARN, and will run through April 19. They affect engineers, designers and product managers, among other roles.
