Everett Pride draws hundreds to city's downtown
EVERETT Hundreds filled the streets of downtown Everett on Saturday for the beginning of the citys Pride celebrations, set to continue throughout the weekend.
Saturday afternoon marked the opening of the Everett Pride Block Party, an event that brought together vendors, food trucks and performers to fill the streets of the citys downtown. It was the fourth annual Everett Pride event to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, organized by a group of local volunteers.
Every Pride event is thrilling, that it exists, that its getting bigger, that its well attended and that its more affirming, said Becca Bressell, a member of the Globe Northwest nonprofit that provides support to LGBTQ+ youth in the Snohomish County area.
Thousands of people attend the block party every year, according to organizers. On Sunday, Everett Pride will also host a drag brunch at the Bayside Cafe, located at 2913 West Marine View Drive in Everett.
