SSDC (D) gives $7.3 million to its candidates in top four races, CERS (R) transfers $2 million

The State Senate Democratic Committee has transferred $7.3 million to its candidates in four top races since mid-September, helping to fuel fundraising advantages over their GOP counterparts, according to new filings.

Meanwhile, the Committee to Elect a Republican Senate has sent more than $2 million to its candidates in those races over the same period.

The biggest beneficiaries of that largesse were 8th SD candidates Jodi Habush Sinykin, a Dem environmental attorney, and GOP state Sen. Duey Stroebel, of Saukville.

Habush Sinykin reported $3.1 million raised during the pre-election period, which covered Sept. 24 to Oct. 21. That haul included $2.6 million in transfers from the SSDC. She also spent $3.1 million and had $95,671 left in the bank.
