State Rep. Dave Murphy (R) changes his voting address hours after his residency is questioned

Within hours of the publication of an Oct. 8 Appleton Post-Crescent report about residents of Assembly District 56 demanding that state Rep. Dave Murphy, R-Greenville, come clean on where he's living, Murphy changed his address.

As of the morning of Oct. 8, Murphy had listed 1310 N. Lake Road in Grand Chute as his voting address on his Wisconsin State Legislator webpage. A day earlier, he told The Post-Crescent he was leasing a residence at the Lake Road address and that the property was in District 56, which he represents.

The property, though, isn't in District 56. It's in Assembly District 52, which is represented by Lee Snodgrass, D-Appleton. Anyone who enters the address on the Wisconsin State Legislature's "Find your legislator" webpage will see that it falls within District 52.

A group of concerned residents in District 56 gathered at noon Oct. 8 for a press conference at Plamann Park in Appleton to question how Murphy could represent District 56 if he doesn't reside in the district.
