Petition gains nearly 25k signatures asking to 'Recall Liz Cheney'

Editor’s note 11:25 a.m. Jan 15.: The petition has gained over its goal of 25,000 signatures since the original article was published.

JACKSON, Wyo. — An online petition has gained almost 25,000 signatures asking for the removal of Wyoming Congresswoman and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY).

The petition comes forth after she received backlash from voting to impeach President Donald Trump after Trump supporters stormed the United States Capitol on Jan. 6.

The petition, which is open for anyone to sign, not just Wyoming residents, reads:

“Liz Cheney does not speak for the people of Wyoming we have had enough of these swamp people this petition might not do much but maybe it will tell her we will not sit by and take it anymore”

There is no other reason described on the petition for the removal of Liz Cheney, who on Tuesday said that she’s not going anywhere.

You don’t recall em on state laws cause they are federal officials.

Also nice - I love how the article casually mentions some states have recall provisions and that theirs ain’t one of em

so any state that has passed such a statute has merely engaged in stage-crafting.

The United States Constitution does not provide for nor authorizes the recall of United States officers such as Senators, Representatives, or the President or Vice President, and thus no Member of Congress has ever been recalled in the history of the United States. The right to remove a Member of Congress before the expiration of his or her constitutionally established term of office is one which resides exclusively in each house of Congress as expressly delegated in the expulsion clause of the United States Constitution

I'm going to guess that most of the signers are not from Wyoming.

Laughable how it is in anti-swamp people petition.
Says a lot to me about the people who drafted the petition ... Fuggin nuts.
