I grew up in North Dakota. In 1966 we had a horrible blizzard. Our power was out for four days and we were trapped. Our only communication with the outside world was our party-line phone, and we were on the same line as a family whose 12 year old daughter was lost overnight in the storm. It profoundly changed my life.
