Gillard is no champion of social justice

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/oct/15/julia-gillard-no-feminist-hero

"Promoted by glass-ceiling feminists with scant interest in the actual politics and actions of their hero, Gillard is the embodiment of the Australian Labor party machine – a number-crunching machine long bereft of principle that has attacked and betrayed Australia's most vulnerable people, especially women.

Those idiots can never get things right.
They remind me of the CEO's who dont like women in authority. The Poms dont like glass ceilings either and the Poms are those who dont believe that there should be equal pay for women and men.In actual fact I believe that the Poms call us colonials because we were supposed to have been sent to Australia to get away from the 'mother country'
Its time that the Poms realised that we in Australia are better at alot of things, especially cricket,Union,League and many other things and they just dont like being told that they arent as good as us AUSSIES.
Typical comment from a Pom who dosent even reside in Australia.Sounds very much like a 'Bogan' to me

but in my eyes, she is a legend.

You obviously didn't experience discrimination throughout your life. I did. I am so glad that she decided not to TAKE IT anymore. She had experienced enough over the last couple of years from Abbott, his pitbulls and his supporters. Enough is enough.

I am not a great fan of Ms Gillard, and one reason is that she's so tightly scripted I don't know what she really thinks or feels about anything.

But that speech on sexism came from the heart, and as a woman who has experienced sexism in the workplace, it resonated with me, as it did with thousands of others. It was brilliant, and Abbott deserved every word she threw at him.

Is this what a feminist looks like??

"her government forced through legislation that stripped A$100 from the poorest single parents – almost all of them women. Even Labor's own caucus reportedly regarded this as "cruel"

and Julia's speech ensured that passage of the legislation didn't get the attention it should have.

But I couldn't call her a "pseudo" anything, because my problem is that I don't really know what she believes. I know what she says she believes, but is it true? I wish I knew.

But I do think the speech on sexism came from the heart, and I wish we could see more of that Julia.

after one year, provided for in the mini-budget, really sucks.

Many Australians go overseas for more than a year to work, and under the new legislation, if their super is unclaimed after twelve months, they will lose it. Under current rules, it can stay in a fund for five years before going to the government. This is going to disadvantage many young Australians who may have registered in more than one fund, and it's very tacky.

Yet the baby bonus will still be paid to wealthy mothers who can afford not to work and who don't really need it.

All in the name of the surplus, which is really not important in current times.

But - an Abbott-led government is the stuff of nightmares.

Seskatow...it seems to me that you have no ideas what you are talking about.I take it that you dont reside in Aussie,BUT with a name like your I would hazzard to guess that you could be Canadian.
Julia Gillard has done things that no-one else has had the guts to do,she is also breaking down the 'glass ceiling' that people like you dont seems to appreciate.
She has put Tony Rabbitt back in his place and every day on ABC 'Question Time' the same question comes out of his mouth about the Carbon Tax.I also suggest that you along with your male chauvinism just stick with what you know more about and I suggest that you leave this subject alone before you dig the hole deeper and cant get out.
Julia Gillard is trustworthy, she is also doing something that many men havent been able to do and that is to introduce laws and policy that hasnt been let into Australia in the past. She has done a better job that Mr.Howard and she is handling Tony Rabbit quite well.
She will also be the PM after the 2013 election,as people in Australia will see what sort of 'Rabbit' Tony Rabbitt is.
