The founder of Diagolon, a violent extremist group, is facing assault and weapons charges in Saskatchewan, according to the RCMP.
Jeremy Mackenzie, a 36-year-old who lives in Nova Scotia, faces charges of assault, pointing a firearm, mischief and use of a restricted weapon stemming from an incident last November near Viscount, Sask.
Mounties in Saskatoon were notified of the incident in March this year, and Mackenzie was charged on July 18, the RCMP said in a media release sent to the Star on Friday.
There is currently a Saskatchewan-wide warrant for Mackenzies arrest, says the RCMP release. At this time there is no evidence he is in Saskatchewan. Provincial Crown Prosecution is currently reviewing to determine if the warrant will be extended beyond provincial borders.
