They are going to destroy cbc news.

Saying they are going to reform it implies they will let it survive. That is meant to calm the fears of liberals implying that it will survive. It will not. The right is dependant on the uninformed. I worked for a new immigrant from Pakistan one time. He was all about cbc radio. Just loved it. This is the last thing the conservatives want. For sure when they destroy cbc news and radio they will claim Canadians voted for it knowingly after this announcement. This statement is meant to give them cover on the issue during the election.

They got Doug Ford to undo draconian municipal cuts because of the election. They are all about putting lipstick on a predator.

I felt much better informed about world news and events through watching the CBC than traditional US broadcast news outlets. I also enjoyed listening to CBC radio.

Hard to believe it has been twenty years since I left Detroit.

Or was it the election before. Regardless conservative Scheer is trying to put out fires and the fears Canadians have of becoming like the USA. A vast majority of the country are left or center left. When they get scared of conservatives they break for whichever left center left party has the best chance and that means liberals.
