Glenn Ivey for the 2024 MD US Senate Election for the seat held by Ben Cardin if Ben Cardin retires.
Glenn Ivey has the experience of becoming US Senator. He worked on Capitol Hill during the 1990s for Paul Sarbanes and Tom Daschle. Ivey was recently elected to the US House of Representative from MD-4(Prince Georges County) in 2024 but that should not prevent him from running. MD has elected 1 term US House members to the US Senate(Glenn Beall Jr. 1970). Ivey is a black man from Prince Georges County. Recently elected MD Governor Wes Moore and Recently elected MD Attorney General Anthony Brown are black males from Prince Georges County.
The other Prince Georges elected official interested in the 2024 MD US Senate Election is Angela Alsobrooks-the current Prince Georges County Executive. Alsobrooks played a major role in helping Wes Moore/Aruna Miller becoming Governor/Lt Governor,Anthony Brown becoming Attorney General and Brooke Lierman becoming Comptroller. Alsobrooks will be the 1st black female US Senator from MD.
Ivey should be the 2024 Democratic Nominee for the US Senate and Alsobrooks should be the Democratic nominee for Iveys US House seat to gain legislative experience for a future US Senate Election.
Ivey was elected and re-elected Prince Georges County State Attorney(position Alsobrooks has held before becoming Prince Georges County Executive) in 2002 and 2010. After Ivey left the Prince Georges County Attorneys office, Ivey ran for the US House from MD-4 in 2012,2016 and 2022.
