(50,044 posts)No, I don't think that Iowa or NH should be the first. Their population, economy, immigration and other factors do not resemble the country as a whole. The first in the nation should be a different state but not one that has no chance of voting for a Democrat. At least Iowa voted for Obama and Clinton, twice.
My preference and in the 90s many Secretary of States proposed, are rotating regional primaries. No chance of that, though.
I understood why Biden chose it, owed a gratitude to Clyburn and the the head of the DNC is there. But will this hold for 2028?

What happens in the general is what it is and what state goes first doesnt matter as every state votes on ELECTION DAY.
