So...what's Facebook "Messenger" suppose to be, and why i Emperor Zuck pushing me so hard to use it?

I get an alternate version of FB that tries to force me to switch to the thing every time I'm on all of a sudden.

What the hell, guys?

I admit to not having it installed on any computer or mobile device.

it just allows me to use the messenger feature like i do in my desktop / laptop. i don't use either very much.
