How can I stop Facebook from sending me friend suggestions several times a day?

I keep getting pop-ups from near my Windows taskbar with a friend suggestion (even when I'm not running Facebook). I keep going to Facebook to mute those suggestions, picking the maximum time they give me -- 24 hours.

I know there is a setting that I can turn off ALL desktop notifications {1}. But I DO want to be notified of responses to anything I post, or to threads that I've posted in...

Is there any way to get rid of the damn friend suggestions without losing the thread notifications?

Thanks much.

{1} Notifications icon (globe icon) -> Settings -> Desktop and Mobile (section) -> "See your notifications in the corner of your computer screen, even when Facebook is closed." -> Turn Off

You should probably delete faceboook.

It stands for nothing good.

ask yourself what your morals are... does facebook align with those morals???

I'm not sure how anyone could answer yes.

Good luck.
