uncheck the trial software offers they want to foist on you when you download the new version of flash. My wife was careless about this recently and it took me some effort to get rid of them.

If your favorite site will play your videos and audio with HTML5, ditch Flash. It really is a security risk, unless you keep it patched religiously, which most do not.

and only 3-4 times have I been prompted with "You need Adobe Flash to view this blah blah" (paraphrasing)

Dunno if phones need it I still have a flip "dumb" phone TYVM
