I am upset. One AOL email address account added to Android HTC phone two years ago

now getting alert: The selected folder was removed from the server. I haven't done a thing or fooled with any settings. This started a few days ago. Calling AOL will most likely require self-medication. JK.

Then tonight a second AOL email account is getting the same alert. Plus I'm on Verizon wireless. Read unsettling stuff and will not touch this phone until I know what the fix is. It had better just be this phone. Have a new Samsung with only my gmail account in it. Thank goodness. I am too worn out to go on a laptop or notebook tonite where all our AOL accounts/email addresses are.
I'm having a gigantic bird.

I wonder if it has something to do with the imap.aim settings. I'm way tech challenged.

Any assist or shedding of light on this trouble is greatly appreciated.

first thing I do is take it in to the Verizon people. Whether it's something on their end or not, chances are good they at least know what issue you're dealing with (and 100% easier than trying to talk to AOL over the phone). If no help from Verizon .. you can take your chances with AOL, or .. my next step is deleting, then reinstalling, ALL the email accounts on the phone .. and as last resort (although this is not as drastic as it sounds) save all your pictures and goodies and then do a factory reset. You'll be able to find pretty good instructions relatively easily on how to do this just by searching your phone and model on Google. Back to square one, and then Android will walk you through set-up again. Good luck.

Dread having to deal with AOL but I may. What you advised deleting the email accounts from the phone and adding them back in. 👍 I just hope any of the AOL accounts on other devices aren't messed up. We have 7 addresses. I know, there's eye rolling. 🙄 😄

The phone also got pretty hot the other night and that's kinda when this alert started. I read about HTC phones having an aluminum casing and can get quite hot. For a phone, that is. Then could crash. I've also gotten numerous errors to send to Android lately. Sumpthin's haywire.

My neighbor is tech and he looked at the phone on both our way Sunday evening but needs to really delve into it. Possibly today. The phone was just two years old in May, but if it's gonna give me grief, it goes bye-bye.

can you log into and view your AOL emails that way? (Just to remove that problem from the mix...)

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which email app?
Which email protocol used to talk to AOL's servers (pop3, imap, exchange) ?

I did take a chance and delete the two AOL email accounts in the phone, then added them back in. Now I can view current ones missing from several days ago but not any b4 August. I had 1,200+ ones in my personal email and 200+ in the original email my husband used when we first subscribed to AOL. Uh, 1993? I know you're laughing. 😤 Now all b4 August 2019 missing.

I then opened AOL desktop on his notebook. Adobe Flash and the security program wanted to update. The security program was saying something off the wall, but scan started and successful. Then, opened AOL and couldn't connect bc 'need to configure anti-virus', 'use an AOL fix feature' [familiar with that], three add'l fixes advised, but I had to take a break. MS been updating for a while now. It's almost like a phantom has taken over..

Earlier on I caved and got AOL tech on the phone. And no resolution bc I could not sign on to/connect to AOL while on w/ them. Wi-Fi is operating fine.

It could be this ridiculous phone and that's my hope.

I do appreciate your guidance.
