LG laptop, anyone have one?

Pricey but looks real good, especially battery life.

Hmm...anyone own an LG laptop?

Battery life is supposed to be amazing...If anyone has in put on this, please do.

And can they only be charged using a USB C Thunderbolt port or does it also have a traditional cable you plug into the wall?

1. I don't know about this particular laptop, but LG in general has a good reputation. I've had

LG smartphones, for example, and they've been great. 20 hrs. battery life ... almost seems hard to believe.

Here's an interesting bit about LG and Zenith, the latter a great name way back in the US.

2. Costco is a great place to buy tech stuff

They have always treated me right when something goes wrong. First rate customer service.

Read as many reviews as you can find, that's all you can really do ... doubt you'll find anyone who actually has that particular model that you 'know', so ...

Costco is pretty cool about returns too.

I'd put my $ on an AMD-based (vs Intel) system. They tolerate heat better and last much longer!

9. We have an LG Gram purchased at Costco and we like it very much except of course for Windows 10.

But there ain't a damn' thing we can do about that, so we live with it.

12. How I choose a laptop.

I bought an LG laptop towards the end of last year (Dec 2019). I had bought it after a lot of internet research. Have been using it lightly for the past 9 months. The laptop is fabulous. It has an excellent processor and 16 GB of RAM. It is fast and has been handling several applications (I use it mostly for browsing and light work) at once with no problem. The 15.6-inch screen is quite big and provides a lot of space. I use a large font and even that fits well. I find it to be lightweight (again I don't travel a lot!). It is perhaps the lightest of all laptops with a similar size screen, including Macs, Dells, etc.

The chassis is compact, and this is great. The laptop is very easy to carry, and it fits into a case made for a 14.1-inch laptop.
The battery life is incredible. It easily runs all day for me.
LG provides a very helpful control panel, easily enabling you to modify power, security, or system settings; although the defaults are just fine. I do like the setting that limits the battery charging to 80%. LG says that this will extend the life of the battery, as the years move along.

The keyboard feel and layout are really good, although this is of course subjective. I also like that it has a numeric keypad.
The fingerprint reader works very well, never a stumble.

The computer has three USB-3 ports, an HDMI port, a Micro SD slot, a USB-C port with Thunderbolt, and an audio combo port. It naturally has a jack for the charging cable. It has a cable lock. You can also charge the laptop through the USB-C if you have a charging device of 10 watts or higher. The laptop comes with a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, a dongle. I like this. It provides one more port than if it had a dedicated Ethernet port.
The touchpad works well. You can use it with or without a mouse. You can turn it off completely if you'd like to.

While researching I had browsed through reviews on Amazon and bestviewsreviews.com and found them to be useful.

I am probably going to get one, the more I research them I’m coming to the same conclusion you are, mainly the battery it’s all about the battery because of where I live and potential loss of power On a frequent basis.
