Did you know you can customize your desktop shortcut Icons

For some reason today, about 8 of my desktop icons were this blue/green globe of the earth. I found out you can change the icon to something you like, customize it.

The picture you choose should be square in dimensions. You upload it to a website and choose to convert to ICO.

Then follow these steps.

Convert your image here

From a website forum on solution to problem, but I changed it to customized icon

Right click on the offending icon (blue and green globe, etc.)
When the window opens left click on "Properties"
Left click on "Change Icon"
At the top right hand corner of the window left click on "Browse"
Browse to the New Saved Icon that you changed to the ICO

Gave up when every single icon reverted to the original upon rebooting; this was ages ago, though, maybe that's been fixed since then.

You know what I wish I could do? I have FOUR icons for Control Panel on my Desktop toolbar. WHY? Can never get it down to just one.

I remember trying to set up my DOS programs to run in Windows by creating a shortcut to the main .exe file and then assigning an icon.
