I'm a Consumer Cellular customer, and they have a few very reasonably priced. I weary of purchasing new phones because of the time invested in setting up new devises, without knowing how it actually performs basic functions inn advance.

Which Galaxy do you have and is it new?

Not sure it helps with the battery issue though. Do you keep the phone on WiFi at home? (Like on your cable modem or something.). I find that helps sometimes.

Disabling the 'Apps Are Using Battery' Notification
After swiping down the notification shade, swipe right on the the "X Apps are Using Battery" notification. This will reveal a Settings cog which you can tap to access the notification settings for Android System. Tapping on the cog brings you to the detailed notification settings — here you will scroll down and find "Apps consuming battery" in the list of system notifications. Turn this notification off and life is good!

Go to "Settings" (usually looks like a gear icon).

Find "Apps"

Scroll through the list til you find thev"Galaxy Store" app

Click on it and see if you can disable it, or force shut it down.

Open Play Store
Top left hamburger
Settings
Auto-update apps -> Don't auto-update apps

disable suspected app & remove

that also keeps your old apps that still work perfectly from being superceded
