Word keeps denying me permission to view my own files.

I keep getting a "permission denied" notice when I try opening various Word files.

"Word cannot open the document. user does not have access privileges."

This is on my computer, trying to open files that I created.

How does my computer deny me access to my own files? How can I fix this? And do I need to do this fix for each and every time this happens--happens quite often--or is there a way to fix this once and for all?

Not terribly computer literate here, so forgive me if I don't catch on right away. No doubt this is some easy fix that my analog mind simply can't tumble into.

If I can somehow fix this I can then move on to the "this file is corrupted" notices which are equally annoying.

Using a Windows 10 program, which I've long since grown to hate.

That might be why. If you create the file while logged on as "John", you can't access them if you change your login to "Jane".
