Anyone have recommendations re: how to send text messages...

FROM a Windows 10 PC to other phones? I have an iPhone but not a Mac, and that seems to be the rub. If I had a Mac, this would be easy. I've been researching this all morning and have only managed to confuse myself further.

It's not so much that I want to save text messages but rather I want to be able to compose and send a text via my Windows 10 PC (and reply to messages I receive).

Any suggestions? Thanks!

1. I think you have to use their phone linking app

I haven’t used it myself but you can Google it, not sure how the text transmission actually works but you’d need another app/service to send texts/sms without a linked phone

I send them via email.

Different networks have different ways to do it. Just google "how to send texts from PC on [YOUR NETWORK]" and you should be able to find the correct way.

4. If I could get the carrier for all recipients that would be great...

but this is problematic because I'm dealing with many different people involved in my mom's care. (Texting hurts me because of post-chemo side effects, but using the keyboard is better because I can wear gloves and still type but can't text with gloves. lol complications, complications...lol).

which is why it's chaotic. I've composed longer messages in email and then copy and paste into text but it's all so cumbersome. I'm trying Messages by Google now and supposedly I can sync devices. I'll report back if it works. Most of these online texting platforms appear to be geared toward marketers and businesses. iPhone + Windows PC is, understandably, the most challenging combo of all.

when you don't feel well, everything just gets harder anyway. I would think most people have email access on their phones? they should cut you some slack!

and it's people of all ages who prefer texting. I find texts overwhelming when there are so many of them, between individuals and sometimes between groups, and when I try to find info that was previously sent it is a real pain. I don't understand why others prefer it. Oh well. It could be that I'm simply more attuned to email because I'm sitting at my desktop working seemingly nonstop. lol

I didn't think about using an app that isn't part of the native messaging system on phones. That won't work given the people I'm having to text right now (short-term caregivers and providers) but for small groups of family and friends, that would be a good option. Thanks!

11. A stylus might help to send a msg on your phone while wearing gloves.

You can usually find them at the Dollar Store. Ball point pen on one end, rubber stylus on the other.

I've used one before. Works good.

Yeah, I remember doing it easily years ago and was surprised how hard it is now. I actually give up because it's just not going to work between iPhone and Windows PC, nothing available for free or without tons of warnings that the interface can access and erase ALL your email data. lol

But a bluetooth keyboard may be of assistance in sending messages from the iphone. Just don't hit Return to start a new paragraph - it sends the text!
