2006 Lenovo notebook battery died -- any way to boot it into life? (Original Post) quaint Jan 17 OP
You'll probably have to run it plugged in, and order a new battery NewHendoLib Jan 17 #1

Use compressed air or a micro fiber cloth. You got 20 years which is great but all things do died.

The pictures on it are not in the cloud, but others in family have them.
BUT, I can't post in large topics (like True Dough's) with my tablet and I can barely see my phone. 😄

Could also see if it will boot from a USB if you have a rescue usb?

My dell does all kinds of funny things when it's upset -- also make sure to unplug absolutely everything usually lets it boot

Hope it comes back to life!

I have seen that work, the battery may have failed to the point it is drawing too much power to let it power on the laptop itself.

You can also pull out the HD and attach it to a usb interface and pull files from it. Interface will vary by type of interface on HD.

After watching a couple of youtubes, I don't think my arthritic fingers are up to it. Think I'll order a battery and ask my grandson (true cliche) to replace it.

He repairs Navy helicopters and they see things like this happen in the onboard computers. His remedy was:

1. Take out the battery.
2. With the battery out, press and hold the on key for 30 seconds.
3. Replace the battery and restart the computer.

This worked for me and it might work for you.
