Ad blocker not working? Only on yahoo.com

I have been using adguards. Free. All of a sudden this evening Yahoo, my home page is full of ads.

Not on DU, not on other newspaper sites, not CNN not my bank only Yahoo?

What is interesting there is usual a counter telling me how many ads were blocked, but not now. OK, it is while on Yahoo but not on DU. I suppose DU has its own ad blocker.

Works on Yahoo. Just tested it.

But I mostly use Firefox for the world-class ublock-origin extension.

You are a star member and don't get DU ads.

Can't say what is going on with Yahoo.

I just downloaded Firefox and Firefox Focus for ios for some reason I forgot, but have not tried them there.

not on the iPad.

I wonder whether I need to clean or something the iMac. Everything takes forever to load.

I just checked Firefox settings and it's using DNS over HTTPS. I had no idea until I checked settings to see some of the countless things going on under the hood. I don't think it's a problem but how do I (or you) find out what's going on?

There's just SO MUCH going on that one doesn't know about (cuz they don't tell you)
Here's a good one that actually helped.

https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/sign-in-with-fewer-captcha-challenges-iph4f43a30c9/ios
Sign in with fewer CAPTCHA challenges on iPhone

Some website and app sign-in screens require you to pass CAPTCHA challenges, such as recognizing letters in unusual shapes. iCloud allows you to bypass many challenges by automatically and privately verifying your iPhone and account. You can turn this bypass on or off.

Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap your name, then tap Sign-In & Security.
Turn Automatic Verification on or off.

Yeah, I never would have figured that out in 15,000 years.
SO MUCH going on.

It’s not perfect, but I get no ads anywhere. For free.

Kinda surprised Yahoo is still a thing.

That website should automatically detect your browser and direct you to the correct store to install the plug-in for your browser.

The Brave browser also has a built in ad blocker that works great.
