Why are there 100 human teeth buried in my yard? Texas police explain.

On March 4, the Hondo Police Department received a call about possible human teeth buried in a yard outside a local residence, the department said on social media.

The Criminal Investigations Division headed to the scene and found over 100 teeth in the soil, which a local dentist confirmed had all been extracted from humans some time ago.

"Now, before you start drafting your next true-crime podcast script, there’s a logical explanation!" Hondo police wrote.

Investigation revealed that the previous homeowners were dentists in Hondo between 1955 and 1975. Police contacted the dentists' family members, who told them burying teeth was considered a good luck charm for selling a home.
