Personally, I've only sent one alert in the past 2 weeks -the post got hidden- and it wasn't ANY of the ones they're complaining about over there.

But given the fact I've had some of the most ridiculous alerts in the DU universe thrown at me (like for saying "iverglas", or for saying I don't think "objectification theory" is a hard scientific concept, for instance) I find the complaints around "obsessive alerting" a little bit methinks-someone-doth-protest-too-much funny.

I've sent i think...1? maybe 2? in a month. I could count on one hand all the alerts I've ever sent. Apparently the fight against nekkid booberz and the dudebro gaze is so vital that all rules can be tossed out the window in pursuit of "the greater good". Even while demanding that the rules be strenuously applied to the bad peoplez, including inventing rules that don't actually exist.

Hell, if people want admin to be tougher on zombies and socks, I'm all for it. I was for it before they were. NO ONE is bigger on that idea.

But let's not play the game of "person H came back and everyone knew and no one did anything about it" (particularly if it's not true) while simultaneously, knowingly, deliberately covering for person(s) S,F,I,E etc. who return with distressing regularity over from their blog(s) after being banned so many times for bigotry, etc.

I've seen several thinly veiled calls for MY banning in recent days, which is funny, because honestly while I may strenuously piss some people off with my opinions (namely, that pictures of naked consenting adults don't hurt anyone, and "Feminism" to me means equal rights and reproductive freedom, not Burqas and censorship) I really do -I think- a fairly decent job of following the rules of this place, and I don't fly off with direct personal attacks and insults unlike some members cough cough. Closest I come, I think, is maybe occasionally calling some people on their post-modern sentence structure. I plead guilty on that.

But shit, even my transparency page is relatively clean, although my alerty friends did get one the other day, first one in a while. (Congratulations, my friend! )

primarily meaning anyone who uses a word off "the list" (except the permanently exempt, who can say whatever they want, just becuzzzz) anyone who expresses appreciation for the human body, anyone who doesn't agree that naked pictures of consenting adults are TEH MOST WORSTEST OPPRESSION EVAH!!!, or anyone who disagrees with the self-appointed "educators" and ideological gatekeepers on, basically, anything...

No surprise, of course.

ones I remember, although they were running them on IFC when I watched 'em. Some of that stuff is pretty funny. I think my wife and I almost died when we saw that.

Archer, though.. I honestly think that's the funniest thing on tv right now. Far and away. Watch the series from the beginning if you can. It's hysterical. The writing is genius.

Considering we're all such witches in HOF, why care what we say? You obviously don't understand or care to understand what you read, so why bother? What is it you find so fascinating about us? After seeing the utter craziness spouted by even the least overboard of the HOF regulars over the past couple of weeks, I am convinced that their regressive attitudes and utter lunacy in some cases, that their particular brand of feminism has nothing more to do anymore other than sitting behind a keyboard and giving men shit because men. I don't know how such brazen bigotry against such a large group of people counts as liberal, but I suspect that this sort of hate has been masquerading as a progressive agenda for so long that we just see it wrapped in the liberal cloth and I guess as such people think it belongs here.

Can't we just agree to all ignore each other and let things be? Hmm. Indeed, the question of the decade. Sure we can. As to the cease fire agreement, I'd kinda thought we'd had. Now that Bane's calling for a cease fire that already technically exists, I can say with honesty that there is no interest in HOF for keeping themselves to themselves.
