Cole County (MO) jury awards $2 million to wrongfully terminated employee

JEFFERSON CITY — Saturday morning, a Cole County jury awarded $2.02 million to a former state employee with disabilities who was wrongfully terminated.

According to a press release from Dashtaki Law Firm LLC, the former Missouri House of Representatives employee was fired in 2017 after he asked for workplace accommodations related to his disability and reported discriminatory treatment.

In a meeting, former Chief Clerk of the House D. Adam Crumbliss reportedly became upset when the employee said he would contact the the Missouri Commission on Human Rights and fired him minutes later.

The employee was represented by Dashtaki Law Firm, LLC and Nimrod Chapel of Jefferson City’s Chapel Law Group.
