Delta pilots picket at Sea-Tac Airport amid industrywide scheduling challenges
As the U.S. emerges from the pandemic, travelers want to return to the skies and airlines are eyeing expansions to their route networks. The combination is straining pilot schedules and the industrys pipeline of new pilots.
Pilots have been demonstrating at airports across the country as they seek relief from the heavy schedules and look to jump-start contract negotiations that lapsed during the pandemic.
More than 150 Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE: DAL) pilots picketed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Tuesday, calling attention to what they say are record levels of overtime as demand for air travel surges.
