Re: Oppose the National Right To Work Act (Pete Ricketts United States Senator )

April 1, 2025

Thank you for contacting my office about S. 533, National Right-to-Work Act.

The National Labor Relations Act protects the right to organize and collectively bargain. Right-to-work laws allow employees in unionized workplaces to opt-out without facing consequences. Nebraska adopted state right-to-work laws on December 11, 1946. Twenty six other states currently have right to work laws.

As you may know, I am a cosponsor of the National Right-to-Work Act. This bill repeals national labor rules that allow employees to be fired if they don’t surrender part of their paycheck to a union. It gives power back to the states to determine what is best for its workers.

My primary mission as your United States Senator is to make government work with proven Nebraskan solutions that are ready for America. To better inform my decision-making, it is important that I hear the ideas, concerns, and opinions of all Nebraskans. I appreciate the time and effort you took to provide input on unions and will keep it in mind as the U.S. Senate considers this issue.

If you have any other concerns or need help with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can contact my office through the following ways:

Sincerely,

Pete Ricketts
United States Senator
