I had an interview today, turned out it was part time work

I had applied for a full time technical position at Lowe's and received a call for an interview. I assumed it was for the job I applied to, but about an hour before the interview I received an email that I was not selected toe the job I applied to. My thought was WTF? But I went to the interview anyway and that's where I found out it was a part time job and they couldn't guarantee more than 10 hours a week and they could be in 2 hours a day. Top that off with no one would tell me what the job pays.

That doesn't even pay me to drive the 10 miles to work. They took my application and stuck me in a position that they can't keep filled.

They keep employees at part time so they can avoid paying g benifits.

That's how I got my foot in the door with the job I have now and I love it. Lowe's is supposed to be a good place to work, at least that's what I've heard.

Part time work is often to door to full time work. Get in the door and impress them with your work ethic and attitude. Companies like Lowes often fill their full time positions from the ranks of part time workers.

The cost of driving vs. the wage doesn't compute.
