Many times Putin lied to his friends, enemies, and pretty much everyone about everything. And sooner or later, the value of Putin's words started decreasing exponentially. The new US administration looked promising. Until Putin started playing them as well. But the patience is not endless. As JD Vance said to Putin recently "You're asking too much!". Because let's be honest, the demands of Putin are outrageous. So the reaction only makes sense. It might even be that Putin just lost his last chance for redemption in the eyes of everyone.
